Privacy & saved game data

Omis01 saves your playing results to show your match history and match you with recorded performances from other players. This page explains the data used by these features.

Guest players and cookies

When you use saved-game features without signing in, Omis01 creates a random player identifier and stores it in the Game01.Player cookie. The cookie lasts up to 365 days and lets this browser find your matches. The server stores a hashed identifier with your game records, rather than your email address.

You can remove this cookie in your browser settings. Removing it disconnects this browser from its existing guest history; it does not delete the records already stored on the server. Another browser or a private browsing session has a separate guest history.

Account sign-in and form security also use cookies needed for those features.

Optional visit analytics

With your permission, Google Analytics measures visits to our public home, play, leaderboard and privacy pages. It uses analytics cookies to distinguish browsers and reports page views, visit duration, approximate location and browser/device information. We do not send your email, account identifier, guest identifier, generated player alias or game records to Google Analytics. Account, personal history and error pages do not load the analytics tag, and our page URLs omit query strings and fragments.

The Google Analytics tag loads only after you choose Allow analytics. Choosing Decline leaves it unloaded. Your preference is saved in this browser for up to 180 days; if browser storage is unavailable, it applies only to the current page. Use Analytics preferences in the footer (or the Analytics navigation button while playing) to change your choice. Declining after allowing analytics stops further measurement and removes this site's analytics cookies; it does not delete data already collected by Google. Advertising consent stays disabled. Analytics blockers and declined consent mean these reports do not count every visitor.

For information about Google's processing, see How Google uses information from sites that use its services.

The language choice is stored in a necessary cookie for up to one year.

Accounts

If you register, the account system stores the email address and account details you provide, together with a password hash and sign-in security information. New matches played while signed in are associated with your account. Earlier guest matches remain attached to the guest identifier.

Your email address is not shown to other players as your opponent name. The game generates an alias, such as “Player A1B2C3D4”, for recorded matches.

Saved matches

A match record includes your generated player identifier and alias, selected country, opponent, start and completion times, match status, scores, round count, outcome and remaining territory.

For fairer opponent selection, it also includes your inferred device category (phone, tablet or computer), touch or mouse controls, and browser window and play-area dimensions in CSS pixels. These measurements do not identify your monitor model or its physical size in inches. A match that changes to a substantially different play area or controls remains in your history but is excluded from recorded opponents.

Round records include the target sequence, shot timing, target references, hits, misses, penalties and score progression. These records let the server calculate results and reproduce a recorded opponent's score over time. Saved shot events contain target references and timing, not the positions of your mouse cursor.

Your player profile also stores your MMR, league progress and number of rated games. Rated matches store the starting ratings and the rating change. A started rated match that is abandoned is recorded as a forfeit; leaving does not erase the result.

What another player can see

A completed performance may become a recorded opponent for another player. That challenge includes your generated alias, country, recorded scores, score progression and rating at the time. The leaderboard shows qualifying players' generated aliases, MMR, leagues and rated-game counts. These features do not expose your email, account settings or private match-history list. The alias is consistent for the same player identifier, so separate recorded performances may be recognizable as belonging to the same player.

Keeping and removing data

The current version keeps saved match records for history and future challenges and does not automatically remove them after a fixed period. Guest-cookie expiry does not remove server records. Account controls apply to account information; deleting an account does not currently remove the separately stored match records or their generated alias.

Only play if you are comfortable with your completed scores being used as recorded challenges under this alias.
